Final post

 This week I have mainly focused on refining the details of my beats, making sure they all sound how I want them to. this involved going back through all the beats I made and making sure everything was on beat and on tempo. I was able to do this in addition to making a Jazz beat that I think is pretty decent. Comment response: maurine- I have also listened to a lot of 50 cent, so that has also played a roll in my inspiration! Reflection: goals: 1. to master beat making on garage band 2. to be able to make beats for different genres of music 3. be able to make beats that are similar to those of a particular artist I had a lot of fun with this project, it helped me to learn about something I love on a deeper level. I was able to spend a lot of time both listening to and making music, both things I have come to enjoy even more over these past several weeks.  This week, I made two more beats, an old school rap type beat, and an R&B type beat. I really enjoyed making the old school rap type beat. while I was making it, I was thinking of one of my favorite old school rap artists: Eazy-E. he was one of the first rappers to create what is known to some as "Gangsta Rap". he talks a lot about the violence that occurs in the streets of compton in his music, and about how it has effected his life.  a key to old school beats is the drumline, so I really focused on making sure that sounded the way I wanted. this was a challenge at first, but I listened to some of the old school rappers I know of and studied the different sounds that were included in their instrumentals. after doing this, I was able to produce a sound that I felt was similar to this style of instrumental. The other beat that I made was made for singing on, rather then rapping. This beat was harder for me to make and I dont think it was one of my best ones. the struggle ...
